This report contains the results of a research project entitled Intervention Concerning Socially Disadvantaged Children in Day Care which was carried out on behalf of the Danish Ministry of Social Welfare.
The purpose of the project was to investigate
- the type and number of interventive measures in proportion to the number of socially disadvantaged children in day care
- the form such measures take in practice
- the effect of such measures on the children, their everyday life and further development plus the advantages and disadvantages of such measures and the methods used.
The research project consists of a number of sub-projects. A nationwide quantitative study of interventions by local authorities, a qualitative study of intervention in 10 municipalities and an in-depth qualitative investigation of nine day-care centres following developments in the type and number of interventions used.
