The Introduction Programme from 1999 was designed to help new immigrants in Denmark find employment more quickly. Akf's review of the effects of the programme's labour market-oriented initiatives up to 2003 shows that the individual parts of the programme have very different effects. Employment with pay subsidies clearly has the greatest positive effect. However, it is problematic that only a few immigrants are offered such jobs. These and other findings result in a series of recommendations for changes to integration initiatives.
