Astrid Kiil

Astrid Kiil works with quantitative empirical analyses. Her research concentrates on the interplay between financial incentives and behaviour and evaluates the effect of various interventions (primarily in the health sector).

She has previously investigated what characterises people who have private health insurance through their employer and how private health and sickness insurance affects the consumption of health services in Denmark.

She found that the likelihood of having health insurance organised by one’s employer increased with income, while gender, level of education and managerial status made no difference. She also found that private health and sickness insurance in general had a positive effect on the consumption of health services.
