Health economy
AKF's research into health economy looks at the economic consequences of the development in the population's health and of an ageing population. Among other things, it is important to examine which conditions of life influence the changes in self-estimated health, physical functional ability and mental well-being at different age levels - and the economic consequences.
Furthermore, the area includes economic analyses of preventive and health improving efforts and retraining. Within the new municipal structure the municipalities get a bigger responsibility for the retraining, and AKF for instance aims at carrying out research that examines the effect of different models for retraining, e.g. the connection between cost and effect and economic consequences of the retraining.
