Health
Within the area of health AKF deals with e.g.
With the new Health Act the municipalities get an essential role within the health area; partly because they have to pay part of the health service in the form of an activity-based payment arrangement, and partly because their role in the areas of prevention, training and care will be strengthened. Research about the population's health including the interaction between, on the one hand, the preventive efforts in the municipalities and on the other hand, hospitals and doctors in the regions will therefore in the years to come be upgraded in AKF.
Health, education and unemployment
There is a considerable social imbalance in the health problems. For instance, many studies show that unemployment and education influence people's state of health. AKF's research tries to contribute to the understanding of the connection between unemployment and health. We, for instance, look at whether people who have been laid off because of the closure of their place of work get health problems to a higher degree than others. We also look into which effect health problems have on the attachment to the labour market, future unemployment and marginalisation from the labour market. Furthermore, AKF carries out analyses of the connection between education and health including which effect the educational level has on the risk of being admitted to hospital.
