Liberalisation and privatisation

AKF's research into liberalisation and privatisation deals with central problems within marketisation of public activities. We study the basic characteristics of different organisational forms, e.g. competitive tendering, free-choice arrangements, user's fee and privatisation. Furthermore, AKF works with organisational in-municipal forms.

Marketisation

AKF analyses the consequences of marketisation. For instance, expenses to school cleaning have been compared when contracting out the task or solving it under public management.

Internal organisational forms

The analyses of internal organisational forms within the municipal organisation could for instance be to examine the perspectives of introducing an agreement-based organisation with all the executing activities placed in independent municipal enterprises. AKF has carried out such analyses for the Regional Municipality of Bornholm which introduced this organisation in connection with the amalgamation of five municipalities.
