In the field of public economy and organisation AKF researches in:

• citizen services and digitalisation
• effectiveness
• financing
• Danish municipal reform
• liberalisation and privatisation
• organisation and work environment
• management.

At present, the public sector undergoes big changes. AKF follows the developments closely. The municipal reform is a crucial topic for AKF's research. The same goes for the marketisation of public benefits and new demands for documentation and evaluation of public efforts. The consequences for the effectiveness and quality in the public sector and for the employees' work environment of the new organisation and management are also important. Furthermore, it is important to examine new use of information and communication technologies for citizen self-services and citizen participation, among others the importance of the new tehcnologies for citizens and services rendered.
