Landscape and natural amenities

Regarding landscape and natural amenities AKF researches into e.g.:

  • the consequences of the structural reform including the municipalities' taking over large parts of the administration in the nature and environmental area,
  • development of the administration of the open land,
  • valuation of the recreational and biological nature values,
  • the consequences of the tightened EU environmental legislation.

The development in the administration of the open land

Important to the development of the open land is the land use, including the rural zone administration of the Planning Act. An essential question is how the rural zone administration of the Planning Act works in relation to the contrasting considerations it is supposed to take care of, both taking landscape, nature and environment as well as growth and progress in the rural districts into consideration.

Valuation of recreational and biological nature values

Danes often visit recreational areas like forests, beaches etc. The recreational and biological values in landscape and nature are of great economic value. Therefore, it is important to take this into consideration in connection with the development of the administration of landscape and nature. AKF carries out research that contributes to examining these values.
