Conditions of life in the welfare society
Good conditions of life for everyone is a key goal for the welfare society. Therefore, it is essential that we understand the conditions of life of our citizens, i.e. which mechanisms lead to good conditions of life and how conditions of life change over time. Conditions of life cover many things, from health and functional capacity to economy and social integration. And some groups are more vulnerable than others to unsatisfactory conditions of life. Special attention needs to be given to the conditions of life of these groups – which processes have led to unsatisfactory conditions of life, which processes can improve their conditions of life and what public initiatives might possibly help bring these improvements about.
AKF's research in conditions of life and social initiatives
AKF's research focuses on conditions of life for the elderly, vulnerable children and young people and highly vulnerable groups – as well as the social and health-related initiatives pertaining to these population groups. AKF's research into social initiatives deals with the interaction between the client and the social initiatives as well as with the conditions for the professional effort and possibilities for improvement. The research in social inheritance focuses on its influence on experiences in and benefits of the educational system and on integration in the labour market and in society.
