Preventive efforts

An important area of AKF's research is the preventive area. Problems like overweight and obesity are growing among the population, and at the same time an effective prevention holds a big savings potential. AKF researches, among other things, into how economic management instruments could be used in order to influence the citizens' choice of foods in a more healthy direction. AKF also looks into who reacts to information like advertisements, news and public campaigns. The research also includes who chooses to buy new types of foods with for instance lower fat content and which barriers there might be in order to change to new products.
